Charity Navigator
Charity Navigator is a major charity assessment organization that evaluates charitable organizations in the United States, operating as a free 501 organization that accepts no advertising or donations from the organizations it evaluates. Charity Navigator has issued the 4-star rating for The Caring Place since 2014 based on the organization’s demonstration of strong financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency. This is the highest possible rating and indicates that The Caring Place adheres to nonprofit sector best practices and executes its mission in a financially efficient way. Attaining a 4-star rating verifies that The Caring Place exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in its area of work. Only 8% of the charities evaluated by Charity Navigator have received at least 7 consecutive 4-star evaluations.
Candid
Candid, formerly known as Guidestar, has awarded The Caring Place with the Platinum Seal of Transparency since 2022. Candid helps change the world by giving people the information they need to do good. Candid’s data tools on nonprofits, foundations, and grants are the most comprehensive in the world. The Platinum Seal of Transparency indicates that The Caring Place shares clear and important information with the public about goals, strategies, capabilities, achievements and progress indicators that highlight the difference The Caring Place makes in our community. According to Candid, “more than 75,000 organizations have earned Seals, making the GuideStar (Candid) Seal the most widely adopted symbol of transparency in the U.S. social sector.”
Central Texas Food Bank Platinum Partner
Central Texas Food Bank's initiative, ReThink Hunger allows the Food Bank to identify which agencies are best leveraging the impact of food in their community and invest additional resources with these agencies. Once a year, agencies submit data on ReThink Hunger as part of their usual monthly reports. The Food Bank then evaluates this information and assigns agencies to a specific score tier, ranging from the Community Partner level to the Platinum Partner level.
The Caring Place receives rewards based on its tier level, including eligibility for grant funding, reduced handling fees on orders, and priority for Food Bank pilot programs. This allows The Caring Place to further improve the availability of resources for clients in our community. The Caring Place is honored to be a Platinum Partner.
