The Caring Place, a local non-profit dedicated to assisting families in financial crisis in Georgetown and northern Williamson County, is excited to announce a huge project to enclose its Donations Warehouse to build its capacity to accommodate the growth in the need for services. The Caring Place expects construction to begin on Wednesday, July 31. In preparation there will be some temporary changes to donation hours in the short-term and throughout the construction process.
Upcoming Changes:
- Donation Hours: To accommodate construction, starting July 25th through July 30th the Donations drop off area will be CLOSED. Donations will be accepted again starting Wednesday, July 31st during the hours of 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
- Furniture purchased in the thrift store must be picked up by 4:00 p.m. on the same day.
- Donation Location: The donation drop-off location will still be behind the store at 2000 Railroad but will be closer to the gate. Clear signage and updates will be provided to guide donors to the new location.
- Parking: During this time of transition parking in our lots may be more limited while construction gets underway. Parking is also available on the street. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
The Caring Place is committed to serving the community during this time of transition so please continue to donate, shop, and volunteer. Your support is the reason The Caring Place can do what it does. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make these improvements to better serve our neighbors. We will continue to provide regular updates through our website (caringplacetx.org/), social media channels, and local media outlets.
We encourage the community to stay connected and follow us for the latest updates.
