Loads of Caring
Loads of Caring is a first come, first serve FREE laundry service opportunity. Neighbors bring their laundry and run the washing machines themselves. Here's what you need to know before you arrive:
WHEN: *Every 2nd Tuesday and Last Thursday of the month, 4:00 - 8:00 p.m.
WHERE: Washatopia, 1910 S. Austin Ave., Georgetown, Texas
WHAT TO BRING: Your laundry! Soap and dryer sheets are provided.
Host Teams are the heart of our Loads of Caring events. By providing volunteers and financial support, you’ll make a profound difference in the lives of our neighbors. It’s a hands-on experience filled with joy, compassion, and connection.
- Host Teams typically consist of 6-8 caring volunteers to organize and work at each event.
- We find it works best to have half your team volunteer from 4 to 6 PM and the other half from 6 to 8 PM.
- Having a team member who speaks Spanish helps us connect with more members of our community.
- Host Teams cover two-thirds of the washing machine costs, with Washatopia generously contributing the remaining third.
- Many teams also provide event supplies, and The Caring Place will cover any additional purchases of soap and dryer sheets.
