Lori’s job didn’t provide enough money for her to support her family on her own and eviction was eminent. Like many families who find themselves in a crisis, she began weighing her options and that meant trying to justify which bill to pay. “Do we pay for electricity or food?” were the questions she was asking herself. It was probably the need to ask herself these questions at all that spurned her looking for a resource and she found The Caring Place.
The Caring Place receives the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce, celebrating nearly 40 years of unwavering community support and dedication. Learn how this organization has become a cornerstone of Georgetown and northern Williamson County, providing essential services to thousands of neighbors in need.
In 2024, The Caring Place (TCP), a local nonprofit organization that assists families in financial crisis with basic needs, partnered with Luminosa Research to conduct a survey and focus groups with neighbors who received assistance. The project goal was to engage neighbors in giving TCP feedback about its services to inform decision-making and strategic direction, and drive program improvements.
